The Conservancy in the Nashville Business Journal
Read about Centennial Park and our Master Plan from our president, Sylvia Rapoport's guest column in the Nashville Business Journal here.
The column takes a look at how Nashville has grown over the past century and how it continues to grow with the upcoming Master Plan. Nashville is certainly a wonderful place to call home, and we are excited for all the future holds at Centennial Park.

This week at the Center for Nonprofit Management Salute To Excellence Awards, The Conservancy for the Parthenon and Centennial Park received the SunTrust Bank Business Acumen in the Arts Award for our program, Musicians Corner!
This prestigious award is especially meaningful to us since it recognizes an arts organization that has demonstrated exceptional business practices in implementing an arts initiative that carries out the organization's mission, builds its audience, and creates high community impact.
It was such an honor to be nominated alongside the Nashville Jazz Workshop and the Nashville Opera Association. Learn more about our program, Musicians Corner, here. Join us in congratulating our fellow recipients by visiting the Salute to Excellence website here.
Meet The Master Designer: Thomas Woltz
Phase 1 of the Centennial Park Master Plan will take two years to complete and revolves around restoration of existing water elements in Centennial Park including daylighting an untapped fresh water spring, Cockrill Spring, running beneath the park. In addition, a permanent outdoor performance venue for Musicians Corner will be integrated into Phase 1 to be located where the event is already taking place with temporary staging near the West End entrance.
The design and execution of the Centennial Park Master Plan is being led by internationally renowned landscape architect firm, Nelson Byrd Woltz (NBW), whose work includes the Peggy Guggenheim Sculpture Garden in Venice, Italy, the National Arboretum of New Zealand, Citygarden in St. Louis, and Hudson Yards in New York City.
