WORDS FROM OUR PRESIDENT
The Parthenon and Centennial Park have been essential parts of our city's fabric for more than a century. As a support organization, The Conservancy is committed to strengthening, enhancing and restoring these two Nashville crown jewels for the next century and beyond. As the private, for-purpose organization which serves the community through stewardship and promotion of the Parthenon and Centennial Park, we are committed to making a significant difference. Donations through memberships allow us to continue educating the public through programs and exhibits, as well as offer a venue for people with a passion for history, culture and the visual and performing arts.
As a classical symbol, the Parthenon represents a respect for tradition that is balanced by an equal respect for innovation that distinguishes Nashville from other cities. From educational programming to changing art exhibits to symposia, the Parthenon is one of the busiest places in town. We have enhanced the quality of exhibits at the Parthenon, resulting in heightened interest and increased attendance. Our stellar educational programs partner with area schools, providing a unique learning experience to middle and high school students. We have also expanded our focus on autistic, down syndrome, visually impaired and other disabled children and adult visitors. Our interactive Kidsville program at the Parthenon is an exciting venture for our younger audience where Greek mythology, play and craft activities intersect.
With our Centennial Park Master Plan, we have fresh attention focused on the city's park that holds a special place in the history of Nashville and the hearts of our community. Our long-range distinctive plan is transforming the park into a model of sustainable ecological practice and horticultural excellence, accommodating modern uses that will stand the test of time. At the same time, our plan will continue to honor the history of the park. Your support ensures that the Parthenon and Centennial Park will continue to be a place for fun, a place for music, a place for culture and art and a place for the community to gather.
The Parthenon and Centennial Park are two beloved venues where people with a passion for history, culture, the arts and the great outdoors.
