Join the Metro Parks Dance Division at Centennial Performing Arts Studios on Friday, March 8 and Saturday, March 9 at 7:30 pm for Where We Gather, performances by the 2024 Animata Arts Residency Artists. In October, Dogs Eat Wind, Emma Morrison, and Sandy Perez were chosen for residencies at Centennial Performing Arts Studios to create new works. Amanda Reichert, who co-produces Animata Arts with Sarah Salim, will also present work. With support from the Metro Parks Dance Division, Friends of Metro Dance, and with a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission, the residencies provide free and consistent dance studio space for rehearsals, artist stipends, a feedback lab, and professional documentation. The pieces that have emerged from this process are thought-provoking explorations of ritual, family dynamics, cultures of care, perception of reality, transformation, and connection.
