Centennial Park Conservancy Announces New Board Members and Officers

Seven members join the nonprofit’s board and a new chair and vice chair begin their term

Centennial Park Conservancy announced today seven new board appointments and a new board chair and vice chair. 

“We are fortunate as an organization to have such an established group of community leaders joining our board,” said Centennial Park Conservancy President John Tumminello. “They bring a wealth of knowledge and talent and will each play a vital role in leading and stewarding the nonprofit. I’m looking forward to working with them as we continue to enhance Centennial Park and produce great programming that cultivates community through enriching experiences in the Park.”

Joining the board is:

  • Monica Cintado, Vice President of Corporate Development at HCA;

  • Mayor Karl Dean, former Nashville Mayor;

  • Howard Gentry, Criminal Court Clerk of Davidson County;

  • Niya Moon, Corporate Philanthropy Manager at Jackson National Life Insurance Company;

  • Derrick Moore, Co-Founder and Chief Development Officer of Slim & Husky’s Pizza;

  • Craig Philip, Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Vanderbilt University; 

  • Chase Wright, CPA and Advisory Partner for Cherry Bekaert;

In addition to the new board members, Centennial Park Conservancy elected Eric Cook as the new Board Chair and Trish Munro as Vice Chair. Cook is the co-founder and director for a philanthropic arts education fund, So/Co Community Initiatives, and has been a board member of Centennial Park Conservancy since 2021. Munro is a Middle Tennessee native and received her MBA from Middle Tennessee State University. She has served on the Centennial Park Conservancy board since 2020 and has years of experience in other philanthropic involvement in the community.

“I’ve been working with Centennial Park Conservancy’s board of directors since 2021 and am so honored to be selected as the Chair,” said Cook. “I’m passionate about Centennial Park Conservancy's programming and efforts to support the Park and the Parthenon, and I’m excited to work closely with the organization’s leadership team to continue that great work."

Centennial Park Conservancy also selected a new advisory committee. Returning to the Advisory Committee are John Darwin, Brooks Mathews, and Shirley Speyer, who will serve alongside new members Rascoe Dean, Phyllis Hildreth, John Hackett, Rev. Dr. Judy Cummings, Suzanne Moore, and Mara Papatheodorou.
